It's been a month since I last posted and I think this song sums it all up for me... I'll try to be better.

Honestly, the news of John Hughes death hit me very hard last week. I was kind of amazed at the power of the blow. I always knew that his movies defined a specific part of my youth, I just had forgotten exactly how vital that part was. I spent the day yesterday revisiting his films, specifically The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful and Sixteen Candles. I tried to pick a favorite and found it nearly impossible as there is such a true and relatable voice in each one. So, for this post, I'm focused on the one which had my favorite soundtrack. That was an easy one...Pretty In Pink's soundtrack remains on constant rotation for me even now.
Here are three modern takes on three classic tracks from that soundtrack.

I found my favorite live version of this Tori classic and had to share.
Madonna is getting ready to release her 3rd greatest hits compilation and will contain 2 new tracks. The first new single is "Celebration". It marks Madonna's triumphant return to the dance floor after taking a detour to the more hip hop colored world of Hard Candy.
This is a fanmade remix of the dub Warner Brother's has released to tease fans until the track goes live August 3rd. The music remains unchanged...but Dubtronic has added the leaked vocal samples and it is just fucking amazing.
My anticipation could not be greater...I am so happy to hear my girl back in the clubs, where she belongs....
